T-Shirt of the Day #14

Staples Pride – one pulse
4 years ago I had just finished an awesome Pride Parade. I was rocking my Staples rainbow shirt that I helped create the design for. And then all of a sudden things changed. A gunman entered a gay night club in Orlando celebrating a Latinx night and killed 49 people. The Staples community came together, both in Framingham and Orlando. The Orlando office created this limited edition shirt to honor the victims.

T-shirt of the Day #9

“¿Homo estas?” – Gay, are you?
I got this shirt off the Chipotle truck at the 2015 Boston Pride Parade. We were staged near the group and I grabbed a shirt before we started marching. The person who handed me my shirt was from upstate New York and I was shocked and proud that Chipotle was able to mobilize folks from all over the north east to come to the parade.

T-shirt of the Day #5

#TRIPPRIDE
It’s Pride Month! This was my Tripadvisor pride shirt from the parade last year. (It’s off brand now, but don’t report me – we didn’t get new ones for this year yet!)
Pride is celebrated during the month of June. It marks the anniversary of the Stonewall Riot. This was not the first time LGBTQIA+ people took a stand, but it was marked as a turning point for the moment. Back in 1969 there wasn’t social media – it was mostly up to newspapers and word of mouth that news traveled – the news of an uprising in New York City.
The LGBTQIA+ community is one of intersections – both across the letters of our acronym and across other identities of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, disability, etc. We must continue to raise our voices and take action to support ourselves, our LGBTQIA+ community, and the communities within and around us.
